Today's project involved making caramel apples!
After reviewing many ideas and recipes from Pinterest, we decided on attempting to make our own version of caramel filled apples.
To start, we took two bags of Werther's Original soft caramels (Rite-Aid was out of Brach's).
Then, we unwrapped each caramel, put them into a microwave safe cup, and melted them on half power for about 2 minutes.
In the meantime, we cut each apple in half to scrape out the seeds and part of the inside.
To make life easier, we decided to place each apple half into a muffin tin and we poured in the caramel.
Because we used the Werther's Caramel candies, the caramel began to harden right away.
After a few minutes in the refrigerator, we sliced them up to enjoy!
It may not be perfect, but our 6 year old son/brother sure enjoys them!
